Role Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong product sensibility to join a highly experienced team (each member with 12+ years of experience) working on an agentic web platform for scientific research.

This role goes beyond building models or running analyses. You will help design and build AI-powered tools and agents that are actually used by biomedical scientists. That means combining strong data science skills with clear thinking about users, workflows, and usability.

You will work at the intersection of data science, AI systems, and product, contributing directly to a user-facing platform that automates and augments the analysis of complex biological datasets.

Technical skills

• Ability to design clear, intuitive visualizations and outputs that help users understand complex results.
• Product-building mindset: comfortable contributing to a production web application (e.g. fixing a small bug, improving an interaction, writing a unit test).
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g. Git).
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Product & UX Sensibility (Strongly Valued)

• Good taste for simple, usable, and well-structured UI, even without a design background.
• Ability to reason about UX trade-offs, information hierarchy, and cognitive load.
• Experience translating ambiguous user needs into concrete product or feature decisions.
• Habit of thinking in terms of end-to-end user workflows, not isolated analyses.
• Willingness to prototype quickly, test ideas with users, and iterate.

Nice to Have

• Experience with biological datasets (e.g. OMICS).
• Familiarity with the academic research process and scientific publications.
• Experience running or participating in user interviews, usability testing, or product discovery.
• Previous work on user-facing tools, dashboards, or platforms used by non-technical users.
• Side projects or open-source contributions where you owned both the data logic and the user experience.

• Rapidly prototype, iterate, and engage with biomedical scientists and researchers to understand real needs.
• Design and develop AI agents and tools for automated analysis of complex biological datasets.
• Build predictive models, apply advanced statistical analysis, and create clear, intuitive visual outputs.
• Contribute directly to an agentic web platform, bridging data science, AI systems, and product functionality.
• Work daily with experts in AI, biology, management, and platform engineering, learning and contributing across disciplines.
